Blinds of Folly

A streak of light
From the opening in her blinds
A golden delight
But how, if all dreams end when the day unwinds;
A dystopian society She sees better with her eyes closed A humankind without humanity Perhaps they are misdiagnosed;
A heart that yearns For sense and serenity A city that burns With envy and enmity;
A doleful plight
That has become their reality
A sinful sight
Perhaps past redemption but deep-down persists morality;
If only a wise man or woman shall lift the blinds of folly
Oblivion and ignorance shall be expelled from all minds
An outlook of welfare said to be godly
A pledge to nobler upbringing that unites all kinds.
