This letter is from the people of the future who are writing to the people of the past, informing them of what turns Artificial Intelligence will take as they proceed on their journey.

Dear Earthlings,

It is natural for you to be afraid, perplexed and whatever else you may be feeling as you read this letter. To begin with, we are the inhabitants of the future- not aliens, not ghosts and nor

are we robots. We are simply you thousand years in the making. Our purpose is to inform you of the inventions we have made.

If our calculations have not done us wrong, you must be living in 2022- making use of ‘Artificial Intelligence’ like amateurs. Your aspirations are very confined as compared to what we are about to tell you. It is funny to even imagine there was a time when we did labor and of that we led our lives, we were still fighting for our social status, we feared death and we had limitations. They hold very little importance now.

In your near future, technology like Gesture Recognizing Systems, prototypes of robots, advanced satellites, medical equipment, automated cars, and so on were in trend. Then, came along the invention of robots. They could be seen everywhere, as if they dominated Earth. They were in place of security. They were in place of customer care. They were in place of laborers. They were in place of house help. They were in place of doctors and engineers. And soon the fictitious tale of robots taking over the world did come true. A nuclear war was triggered within the Earth, some escaped but many died. The ones that managed to survive stay at their assigned space shuttle, floating about the ends of space and sometimes drifting into nothingness. We are from the Woke- Space Shuttle 2912. Ever since the evolution of Science, society and politics have died down. Everybody identifies themselves as human- not a Hindu, not a Muslim, not a girl, not a boy, not a white, not a black- just human. There is a strict code of conduct we must follow, and while capital punishment has been made illegal- the consequences of your actions are severe than they were ever before. We have had enough time to make peace with the end of Earth and get accustomed to our new life. Now, we have managed to make many new inventions too!

At Earth, we designed machinery that could detect cancer. We made a device that reduced the damage done by medical radiations. We could find genetic defects and even better our DNA to make it perfect. In space, we continued to find cures for cancer and AIDs and at last we were successful! Our new discovery did not just mean to cure prevalent diseases, it simply ended the chain of diseases. In space, our immune system was programmed to endure much worse than it could on Earth. Taking advantage of that, we strengthened our white blood cells to such an extent that there was not one disease that could overpower them. This was, obviously, done using A.I.

Before arriving to space, we had made notable developments in telescopes and satellites. Now that we have the power to roam about space, we have started focusing on that what lies beyond the Milky Way for we have explored the ends of our Solar System and further on. We made a machine that could stimulate planets and make its very own additions. Now, we have even made a replica of Earth and soon we will be able to leave our space shuttles and stay there. This model can self-adjust its climate, has fertile land and can grow crops of vast diversity, manage its water supply and attend to other basic needs. Additionally, it can also regulate greenhouse gas emission, produce artificial rain and has underground bunkers if the fate of Earth repeats itself.

Our descendants are now taught about Artificial Intelligence instead of your typical subjects. They are given the opportunity to interact with real world robots as well.

As of now, we have not been able to detect any human enemies for our army to fight. Thus, our weapons are designed to sustain the unpredictable nature of space. Every space shuttle has detectors at its front, back and sides. If it senses the presence of a meteoroid, asteroid or comet, it uses pressure to either derail or diminish the celestial body. Further, there is even a force field around each spaceship disallowing undesirable objects to come inside the space shuttle’s close radius.

The fundaments of the world have changed drastically. It is clear that we have stopped using cars, trains and planes as a mode of transportation. The movements of the people are very much restricted to their space shuttle. The minister of every shuttle, however, has a teleportation booth, aiding him or her in moving from shuttle to shuttle. As for communication, we have walkie-talkies that help us connect with other satellites.

Now, for the most awaited, significant and defining invention that is permitting us to communicate with you at the moment- time travel. We have not been able to design time machines as shown in movies and books, but we have created a portal that allows us to communicate with you right now. As of now, you will not be able to respond to this letter because to you the portal between timelines is invisible and as good as non-existent. In revealing the future to you and warning you of the forthcoming battle of ‘Robots vs Mankind’, we have risked altering the course of time. However, you all must understand, no great invention comes without experiment and no great experiment comes without accidents.

Traditionally, we would write ‘hope to hear from you soon’ but considering that is not possible, we hope you understand the contents of this letter and handle your knowledge with care.
